The Great Recommission, Gen Z, Bible Revival

THE GREAT RECOMMISSION
Based on findings from a report authored by Jim Davis, a pastor affiliated with an evangelical church in Orlando, Florida, and Michael Graham, a writer associated with the Gospel Coalition, approximately 40 million Americans have disaffiliated from religious congregations and stopped going to church. They call this the Great Dechurching in America.
Realistically, this number would be a lot higher should it include the 40 million Christians' children, grandchildren and subsequent generations! That’s a lot of lost sheep and this is unacceptable to God!
We encourage those who left church to come back. Church is in your heart, home with family or reconnecting with Christian friends. Rededicate to learn of God though Jesus and the Holy Spirit will renew your life with him.
The Great Recommission we promote is to counter the Great Dechurching in the USA. This Great Recommission is to bring back the lost sheep, encouraging them to come back to Jesus, bringing church to them and their families. For many of our children, it is to prevent them from becoming lost sheep.
We all have relatives and friends who stop going to church, whose children stop going to church and their children who never went to church. Have a bible revival at home, at work, in public, with family and friends, rededicate, renew your life.

Jude 20-23
20 But you, beloved, building yourselves up in your most holy faith and praying in the Holy Spirit, 21 keep yourselves in the love of God, waiting for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ that leads to eternal life. 22 And have mercy on those who doubt; 23 save others by snatching them out of the fire; to others show mercy with fear, hating even the garment stained by the flesh.

Matthew 9:35-38
35 And Jesus went throughout all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues and proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom and healing every disease and every affliction. 36 When he saw the crowds, he had compassion for them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. 37 Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; 38 therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.”

GEN Z
Gen Z are those that are born within the years of 1997-2012. So much has been written on increasing numbers of this generation who have difficulties with depression, loneliness and thoughts of suicide in recent years. If you search Gen Z, you will see this. Researchers say it’s the most distressed, lonely, hopeless and suicidal generation yet. But I know there is much hope, love and faith in this generation. The older generations have responsibility to help the Gen Z and subsequent generations to come.

Research states that over 90% of the Gen Z generation say it’s important to help others. Gen Z has it right. It is important to help others. The bible says to love thy neighbor. Gen Z has hope and is on the right path. With Jesus, there is always hope.

Listen to the words of Jesus, the Prince of Peace and follow him. He will take your burdens, worries and loneliness from you and give you peace. This world is full of negative forces, even more now with technology. God has shown us the way to obtain victory through the Bible.

Gen Z is ripe for a Jesus revival. We need Gen Z to inspire other generations to read the living word of God. There’s so much to do, the harvest is plenty and the workers are few. We need to build strength in numbers so we can be better equipped to share our faith with others. Share your testimonial, walk with God and encourage others to follow Jesus. Share with friends that, it is your calling to help others with their salvation. Stand firm in the strength of Jesus.
Let’s Go For It!

1 Corinthians 16:13-14
13 Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong. 14 Do everything in love.

1 Timothy 4:11-13
10 That is why we labor and strive, because we have put our hope in the living God, who is the Savior of all people, and especially of those who believe.
11 Command and teach these things. 12 Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity.

2 Timothy 2:15
15 Do you best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth.

THE BIBLE REVIVAL

The Great Bible Revival was created to assist your growth in your relationship with God. We need to open our bibles, read the living word of God, read to our children and live by the word. The bible is the path to salvation and living word of God. We need to read it regularly and let it guide our path. Learning about Jesus and becoming his disciples is a lifetime pursuit. We can overcome life’s trials and tribulations and be victorious if we open our bibles. The living word (the Bible) is the sword of the spirit. We must obtain the spiritual sword to win the battle for salvation.

It is very inspiring these days to see young Christians reading and studying the bible with friends at coffee shops and many other public places. They are the future of American Christianity. We need to invest our time in the Gen Z generation. They will assist in bridging the gap between the older and younger generations. Let’s start a revival.

Learn the gospel so you can teach the gospel, get inspired by the words of Jesus, live what you learn and be an example to others by how you live your life.

2 Timothy 3:14-17
14 But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have become convinced of, because you know those from whom you learned it, 15 and how from infancy you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. 16 All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, 17 so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.

Hebrews 4:12-13
12 For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart. 13 And no creature is hidden from his sight, but all are naked and exposed to the eyes of him to whom we must give account.

Ephesians 6:16-18
16 In all circumstances take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil one; 17 and take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God, 18 praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end, keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints,

Hebrews 12:2
2 looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.

Psalm 19:103-105, 116, 144
103 How sweet are thy words unto my taste! yea, sweeter than honey to my mouth! 104 Through thy precepts I get understanding: therefore I hate every false way. 105 Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.
116 Uphold me according unto thy word, that I may live: and let me not be ashamed of my hope.
144 The righteousness of thy testimonies is everlasting: give me understanding, and I shall live.
Psalm 25:5
Guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long.

John 5:39-40
36 “I have testimony weightier than that of John. For the works that the Father has given me to finish—the very works that I am doing—testify that the Father has sent me. 37 And the Father who sent me has himself testified concerning me. You have never heard his voice nor seen his form, 38 nor does his word dwell in you, for you do not believe the one he sent. 39 You study the Scriptures diligently because you think that in them you have eternal life. These are the very Scriptures that testify about me, 40 yet you refuse to come to me to have life.

John 1:1-5, 14
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was with God in the beginning. 3 Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. 4 In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. 5 The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.
14 The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.

Matthew 24:35
35 Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.

Matthew 4:4
3 The tempter came to him and said, “If you are the Son of God, tell these stones to become bread.”
4 Jesus answered, It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.

2 Timothy 2:14-16
14 Keep reminding God’s people of these things. Warn them before God against quarreling about words; it is of no value, and only ruins those who listen. 15 Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth. 16 Avoid godless chatter, because those who indulge in it will become more and more ungodly.

2 Peter 1:20-21
19 We also have the prophetic message as something completely reliable, and you will do well to pay attention to it, as to a light shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts. 20 Above all, you must understand that no prophecy of Scripture came about by the prophet’s own interpretation of things. 21 For prophecy never had its origin in the human will, but prophets, though human, spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.

James 1:22-24
22 Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. 23 Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like someone who looks at his face in a mirror 24 and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like.

Lost Sheep:
The Great Recommission of Jesus American Christianity is to bring home the lost sheep. We encourage those who left Jesus and the church, to come back to Jesus and the church. Reconnect with family and Christian friends. Don’t be discouraged by hypocrisy or gossip, look to Jesus as our example.

In 2007, Barna Group Research stated hypocrisy was the one of the top reasons unbelievers rejected Christianity. This was also true in March 2023 as The Barna Group again listed hypocrisy this time as the main reason unbelievers rejected Christianity. So really nothing has changed in 17 years. In fact, it is getting worse.

In 2017, a report from Lifeway Research survey stated that a majority (66%), of Americans ages 23-30 stopped attending church on a regular basis. Among their top reasons was that church members seemed hypocritical, divisive and judgmental. Do not let the examples of people in the church deter you from having a relationship with God.

Matthew 18:10-14
10 “See that you do not despise one of these little ones. For I tell you that their angels in heaven always see the face of my Father in heaven. 11 For the son of man came for which is lost.
12 “What do you think? If a man owns a hundred sheep, and one of them wanders away, will he not leave the ninety-nine on the hills and go to look for the one that wandered off? 13 And if he finds it, truly I tell you, he is happier about that one sheep than about the ninety-nine that did not wander off. 14 In the same way your Father in heaven is not willing that any of these little ones should perish.

John 10:25-30
25 Jesus answered them, “I told you, and you do not believe. The works that I do in my Father's name bear witness about me, 26 but you do not believe because you are not among my sheep. 27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. 28 I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand. 29 My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all, and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father's hand. 30 I and the Father are one.”
