Holy Spirit, faith, love, father, god, help, salvation, church

My name is Clyde Ching. I’m not a scholar, or famous theologian. I’m a theologian who studies the bible, a servant of God and a soldier in Jesus’ Army. I’m devoted to the understanding of the living word and what it says to do. I have something to share with my brothers and sisters in Jesus Christ, Jesus American Christianity.

I may never have the privilege to ride in Jesus’ Army when he comes down from heaven, but I have enlisted in his army here on earth.

 Psalm 144:1
1 Praise be to the Lord my Rock, who trains my hands for war, my fingers for battle.

2 Timothy 2:3-4
Join with me in suffering, like a good soldier of Christ Jesus. No one serving as a soldier gets entangled in civilian affairs, but rather tries to please his commanding officer.

I was born and grew up in Hawaii. I started going to church at a very young age and left church when I was 10 years old. As I grew older, I went to college and had good jobs, only to quit them to get involved in big wave surfing. I did not surf for money, but only for the spirit and enjoyment of surfing. By the grace and mercy of God, at 26 years of age I was born again. The fear and the power of God made me realize I am nothing without him. God took me from Hawaii and I moved to Huntington Beach, California to start a new life and a career in aerospace. Still searching and finding the way, I realized that life without Jesus was not a good life at all, and my salvation was in question. I started going to Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa (CCCM), the Jesus Revolution Church in 1981. With the help of Pastor Chuck Smith and many Godly people, my foundation on the rock began to grow.

That same year I started volunteering in the Thursday night, second grade Children’s Ministry. Working with children was an eye opening, amazing experience. Comparing then to now, it appears that the need to know Jesus is even stronger. There are so many challenges and struggles in this day and age of social media as it pertains to our younger generations. We need to open the bible more and get strong in Jesus. This is true for all Christians.

In 1982, I had plans to drive to Tijuana and Ensenada, in Baja Mexico with some friends to serve Jesus. Helping orphanages and families in need with bibles, food and clothing. Then go surfing, eat fish tacos and enjoy serving this way. But God had other plans. A missionary friend mentioned that Mexicali is a less visited area and there is great need there. Mexicali is on the north east tip of Baja Mexico, in the desert, close to Yuma, Arizona. We decided to forget the surfing and fish tacos; Jesus was telling us we need to go to Mexicali. We did that for a year. Soon I met my bride Geri at a CCCM young adult beach fellowship in Corona Del Mar, California in June 1983.

Geri and I were married in November, 1983. We started a family and our daughter was born in 1985. This was followed by the birth of our son who was born in 1988. In 1990 we moved to Rancho Santa Margarita, California and attended Foothills Evangelical Free Church for several years. In 1999 we chose Saddleback Church in Lake Forest, California as our new home church. Our kids were really happy and loved what Saddleback Church had to offer their age groups.

Knowing my love for children, God had used me to help and influence them in a positive way. During this journey, I have had many blessings from the kids and their parents. They have thanked me and expressed how much their kids have been influenced in a positive way.

In the early 90’s, I started a non profit organization called Kids In Community Service (KICS). Through KICS, kids learned to help their community by raising funds and giving back. I also started a Dudical Task Force in one school that had the same idea and goal of raising funds through organizations and learning how to give back to help others in need. Both were a success.

In 1996, I became involved in coaching my kids youth sports teams. I have coached baseball, basketball and served as president of the Girls Fast Pitch Softball league in the community. I also helped in Boy Scout activities and outings. With a full time job, there was little time to do much else. KICS and Dudical Task Force was now on the back burner and never was revived. My walk with God at times felt like a crawl, but I always love, honored and praised him.

In June 2020 Geri and I moved to Texas. And within a year started attending Rock Creek Church in Prosper, Texas. It is here, in Texas, where my desire to serve became strong again. I wanted God to use me where he sees fit because he knows that I have a gift for helping his children. So God has me volunteering in the Children’s Ministry, Student Ministry, Vacation Bible School, summer camp and more to come. God spoke to me and said, if you want to be a good steward of bigger things for the kingdom, you must prove you can do the little things. All I do now doesn’t seem little, but for God’s Kingdom there is a lot more to do.

God’s plan for me to move toTexas has a purpose. In November 2020, Jesus told me to write a children’s book on a story I wrote 30 years prior. I finished that book called Adventures of The Dudicals in August 2022. I was getting ready to promote the book and Jesus took me on another path to start Jesus American Christianity. The goal is to bring back the lost sheep and prevent sheep from becoming lost. Now both the Dudical concept and JAC are on the same vine intertwined. I hope that vine produces tons of good fruit for God and help populate his heaven.
